Carving out some writing time

What a night I had last night! :-D

I spent most of the night dreaming I was posting a new chapter of one of my inklings at the Fanclub messageboards. Hard to believe it took all night, but it did! I wasn't having trouble posting (which was nice!) but in my dreams I was composing my story and commenting to replies and fiddling in general -- all over the current chapter I am working on! I woke up in the midst of it -- about 3 am, I think -- wanting to get some of it written down for real, because I had come up with some good ideas. But I was too groggy to manage it, and so it is all gone -- for the time being, at least.

I'm not quite sure what to make of it, actually, except that I truly am desperate to get a new chapter up for this particular tale, and I am probably thinking about it too much! I think the last time I updated that tale was in October, so I suppose that's why it has been bugging me of late. :-/ I was working on the chapter last night, and enjoying myself thoroughly, but I wasn't expecting to work on it in my sleep, LOL! That is too much of a good thing, no matter how desperate for new stuff my readers are! ;-)

I guess one of my goals for today will be to try to recapture some of my good ideas, and then be certain I carve out some time today to WRITE! It's one thing to have Boromir looking over my shoulder and bugging me about writing during the daytime, but when it comes to bugging me in my sleep, well! That's a bit much! :-D

Unfortunately, it's not there yet! ;-) But I have remembered one of the aspects of one of the dreams, and that was to come up with review synopsis in preparation for the new chapter -- which I will do once I have found where the inkling is buried in the pile of posts that have been posted since October!

You know, I should post about my dream, though, shouldn't I? Just for fun... A kind of ME moment that lasted all night!

Oh, that's happened to me before... I've had a perfectly wonderful dream which I wake up from and find that I have some VERY good story ideas, but I am always far too groggy to write them down! That, and they don't quite sound the same when they're in writing. But oh well...

And yes, it does seem a bit bold of Boromir (was he ever anything else?) to come bothering you in your sleep! Better give him some waking time, hehe! ;-)

you have email...and after i figured out what to do and how to do it, of course i dreamed all night of being able to reap the benefits of coming up with such a great idea :D.....my legs are sore from dancing hee.

Keep practicing that dancing! I suspect you're going to need to be in shape for when your idea bears fruit! :-D

Hello

It sounds like Boromir is telling you something there my dear. I need to get to the red book and get the stories got up.

Things do have a way of teasing one in dreams like that. (((Lin))).

How the unconscious works is amazing, isn't it? If thoughts can't force their way out in waking hours, they show up in some interesting fashion during dreams. That's kind of scary...lets hope that if you are going to have long, drawn-out dreams, they are at least of Sean Bean in a loincloth, or just chain mail, or....
