Learning curve
I got a new computer in my office while I was out yesterday. I have been spending the morning putting things back on that I backed up (fortunately I found out ahead of time they were going to give me a new one and I had time to back up my stuff!), and getting my desktop and other preferences back the way I want them. Some of the programs are a bit different, so I have to explore that, and the keyboard is also a bit different, so that takes some getting used to -- not bad, just different. The biggest change is that all our word processing is now using Word only -- our office used to use Word Perfect, which I know and love. Word for me is like a relative that you meet now and then but don't know real well -- guess we'll have to get acquainted now! ;-)
Just remembered we have staff meeting today, so I'd better make sure I am ready for that. Hope you all have a lovely day!
Edit: Just discovered I have no floppy drive in my new computer, which is a bit of an irritant. Also no CD burner, just a CD drive -- no backing up except to the network, I guess. Or by sending emails to myself with attachments... I can get around it in the future, but that means a wee project I was going to work on today won't happen, if I didn't save the document to the hard drive to be backed up, as well as to my floppy disc!

it's like a disk drive, only you plug it into the usb port of your compy and save the thigns on there. it's pretty cool, you can just put it on your keychain or somethin.
They're pretty cheap too. That one is from circuit city for like $35 (before mail in rebate, after it's like $15)... holds 256 MB. Uhh, but there are other ones that are cheaper.
Just an idea.
