Phones and stuff

Last week it was a new laptop computer, this week, it was a new cell phone. And not an imaginary phone, either, lol! We had a "new after two" phone offer, and we finally decided what we wanted to get in a new phone, and it arrived yesterday by FedEx.
Interestingly enough, the cell phone had a much higher learning curve than the computer! The DH really wanted something fancier in a phone than we had before -- once he decided that yes, he was willing to pay for another two year contract -- so we went with one of these that has the mp3 player in it as well as a phone. I secretly would have liked a different style of phone, but this one seems pretty nice. We wore down the battery in one day, trying to figure everything out! DH has the music features figured out, I have the text messaging and talking features figured out. Does that tell you something about us? ;-) I haven't quite figured out how to call Gondor yet, I suppose that would use up all our minutes, alas!
Not much else has gotten done around here except playing with new technology, so tomorrow will HAVE to be a no computer day, so that we can catch up with ourselves and with some of those things that are important in our lives, but which keep going unnoticed because of the brightness of our computer screen. ;-)
In the meantime, I think I'll see if I can figure out how to upload some "Boromir" tunes to the cell phone!

I am always looking for an excuse to bring out that little .gif file, hehe! Here's an even better one:

All wonderful! I shared these with a friend of mine who'd never seen them... and I'm proud to say that she is probably still gasping laughing!

Phones are ridiculously complex! They come with a whole book of instructions, but unlike most things that come with a book, you actually have to read the thing, lol. I am sure I am not using all the features on my phone because I have forgotten half of them, lol.

New gadgets are fun, but it's always nice when they stop being new and start being ordinary tools. ;-)
