Now comes the hard part!
I just got what is probably my last email from my Dear Hubby, before he boards the plane in a few hours to fly home to me. So no more contact until he calls from Chicago with news about what time to meet him at the shuttle bus. Getting news from him morning and evening has kept me going, now I'll have to wait. But having him really here instead of in an email will worth that wait. ;-)
Maybe not being glued to the computer looking for emails will be a good thing, I can catch up on my housework! It will give me something to do while I try not to watch the clock and feel anxious about his travel. Flying internationally from halfway around the world on little or no sleep is at the top of my list of Not Fun Things to Do.
He's going to be so mixed up when he returns! His plane leaves in the wee hours of Wednesday morning and arrives in Chicago on Wednesday evening -- but there's a good 20+ hours of travel time in there and with the time changes (Pakistan is 11 hours ahead of us), he won't know what day it is, I bet. I'm expecting him not to be too coherent when he gets home on Wednesday night.
He was able to wrap up quite a bit of what he set out to do over there; some loose ends remain with some of the personnel issues, but the work has been set back on the right path, for a few months anyway. It was hard to see the changes that had to be made, because they involved being stern with people who have been friends, but that's how life goes sometimes. God's presence was evident, in that the people who lost their jobs seem to be accepting their fault in the matter, and their hearts remain soft.
I'm not sure how much stuff I'm going to be getting back this time around, but it's nice to know that all my goodies are safely stored in one place, whether I have them with me or not. Hubby made about $1000 on the sale of the other stuff last weekend, and donated it to help with the running of the ministries there in Pakistan.
My goal today is to tidy up our storeroom so there will be room to put some of the things he's bringing back -- not sure what all it will be, but there's bound to be something good and fun in those suitcases.
