I just got what is probably my last email from my Dear Hubby, before he boards the plane in a few hours to fly home to me. So no more contact until he calls from Chicago with news about what time to meet him at the shuttle bus. Getting news from him morning and evening has kept me going, now I'll have to wait. But having him really here instead of in an email will worth that wait. ;-)

Maybe not being glued to the computer looking for emails will be a good thing, I can catch up on my housework! It will give me something to do while I try not to watch the clock and feel anxious about his travel. Flying internationally from halfway around the world on little or no sleep is at the top of my list of Not Fun Things to Do.

He's going to be so mixed up when he returns! His plane leaves in the wee hours of Wednesday morning and arrives in Chicago on Wednesday evening -- but there's a good 20+ hours of travel time in there and with the time changes (Pakistan is 11 hours ahead of us), he won't know what day it is, I bet. I'm expecting him not to be too coherent when he gets home on Wednesday night.

He was able to wrap up quite a bit of what he set out to do over there; some loose ends remain with some of the personnel issues, but the work has been set back on the right path, for a few months anyway. It was hard to see the changes that had to be made, because they involved being stern with people who have been friends, but that's how life goes sometimes. God's presence was evident, in that the people who lost their jobs seem to be accepting their fault in the matter, and their hearts remain soft.

I'm not sure how much stuff I'm going to be getting back this time around, but it's nice to know that all my goodies are safely stored in one place, whether I have them with me or not. Hubby made about $1000 on the sale of the other stuff last weekend, and donated it to help with the running of the ministries there in Pakistan.

My goal today is to tidy up our storeroom so there will be room to put some of the things he's bringing back -- not sure what all it will be, but there's bound to be something good and fun in those suitcases.

How wonderful that he's on his way back to you, and that all went well.

*hugs*

I hope Doug gets home safe and sound! You will let us know when that happens, right?

Glad he got everything near squared away, and that the hard part is over.

Love you! Enjoy your day, and try not to look at the clock too much!

*smooches*

I'm sure your husband is as eager to be home with you as you are to have him home. *sending out requests for safe travel*

Think how fun its going to be going through those bags. I'd be as excited as if I were a kid and it was my birthday!

Hello

This reminds me of when I was a little girl. My dad would return from conferences and I couldn't wait for him to open that suitcase to see what treasures he had brought back for my brothers and I.

I've been working on having an "open grip" on my things and my money. It's hard, I'm so used to taking, that giving is becoming a hard thing to allow myself to do. You're an inspiration. Thank you.

And I hope the next 24 hours goes smoothly for you and Doug.

I'm glad Doug is on his way home, and your life can return to some bastion of normalcy...and you get goodies back, too! Did he find your Tolkien poster that you were looking for?

No! *grumbles with irritation* Guess I might have to search my folks house again, or maybe see if my brother might have made off with it.

Brothers...that's why I don't have any of those thievin' varmints!

But sounds like there was A LOT of stuff for Doug to sort through, so hope remains while the company is true, right? =P

OH thank God he is on the way back. I always hate jet lag. I had it the worst when I was on a mission trip to Europe in 1996. When we landed in England, they made us stay awake until that night when we arrived in Scotland. That was the worst bus trip ever!
