What is a friend?

I found this little gem while doing some research for my PowerPoint presentation. I remember I used to have this proverb on a poster hung on my refrigerator. It's worth remembering -- we all need such a friend from time to time, don't we? And it's a good reminder to BE that kind of friend, too.

Today's plan is to keep plugging away at this project, and hopefully finish it today. I also have to do something about some of the mess that has accumulated about me so that I don't cringe everytime I look up from my computer! Maybe on one of my breaks... I shall start, however, with a nice walk with my DH, on a quest to buy rolls of quarters at the closest bank, so I can do laundry today!

Don't forget to get up and stretch once in awhile and my Grampa Gene advised to stretch your eyes too, by looking away from your work at something across the room or outside in the distance so you don't get eye fatigue as well.

I'm going to be on the lookout for more gems like this, they are a nice thing to pull out when there isn't much else to say on a day, and yet still be encouraging to people.

No Serenity yet. My boy is dragging his heels, afraid of the pain of it, I think. Once I get this PP out of the way, we'll have to push forward. I really want to see it, and the last two episodes of the series. I wish they hadn't cancelled it!

I used to have this on a poster decorated with the word "friend" in Arabic, which I could read because it was a similar script to Urdu -- its root is the word for "truth." Fitting!
