The door is no longer purple, alas! But you can still see the purple paint in spots as you open the door, and it is a lovely shade. I would want it back like that, if it were mine. I'd love to have a purple door!
I am impulsive, too, and I often know what I want straight away. But I'm willing to see if there is another "me" house out there -- I'm willing to flexible about it. If nothing turns up that is convincing enough, I shall start wheedling. Hubby is at least willing to admit that there is little wrong with it. Maybe if I remind him that the high price includes all appliances and washer and dryer...
