The continuing saga of the tooth that broke...

I've gotten in to a dentist this afternoon to deal with my tooth. The dentist is the husband of someone who used to work at our mission office here, who is now his receptionist at the dental office. She answered the phone, and remembered me from years gone by, so I'm pleased. I hear he is a good dentist -- and also gives discounts to folks who are with our mission! That will make it doubly nice. :-)

Still no pain, so I am glad to get in before that starts. Hopefully they can save and rebuild the tooth without too much trouble. I don't have a fear of dentists, but I always feel sick after dental procedures, so that will be fun afterwards. :-/

Thanks all for your thoughts and prayers and well-wishes for my toothy ordeal. I have a nice shiny aluminum piece temporarily "super glued" in place, and the promise of a rather pricey crown coming in 3 weeks. In the meantime I am feeling quite numb, but otherwise chipper.

The good news is that it was a clean break, and there is no infection, and the pain I was experiencing with that tooth before was because I had cracked it. The rest of the good news is that, though it was a pricey break, I can get reimbursed for the expense, as our mission has an arrangement that covers such expenses -- not exactly insurance, but the equivalent.

I'm still not able to chew on that side, so no stale lembas bread for me for awhile, but I should be ready to go in time for Christmas cookies. ;-)

Suggestions that this incident might be good material for a Boromir conversation have been duly noted. :-) Boromir is thinking about whether he has anything to contribute on that topic.

I am sure he does!
