Has it really been two weeks since I posted? Time really flies when you don't know which end is up! Actually, the last two weeks have flown because I was happily busy, and it's only today that I don't know which end is up.
I seem to have fallen sick -- one of those colds that creeps up on you disguised as allergies with a simple tickly nose and sneezing (yesterday), then suddenly it pounces and in less than an hour you feel dreadful with a headache, sore throat, cough and even more violent sneezing. So that's where I'm at this morning. I have canceled my activities for the day, even though I was kind of in charge of something, and I'm going to stay home, stay warm, and take lots of naps. Sounds like a plan.
Otherwise, in the last two weeks, I was involved in the following:

Otherwise, in the last two weeks, I was involved in the following:
- trying to stay warm. We've been having the kind of weather I remember experiencing as a child -- wind chills in the negative 20's, that sort of thing. I am thankful that our apartment stays pretty warm without us having to run our heat that often -- thanks to the folks who live above and below, who run their heat every minute of the day, bless them.
- visiting Wisconsin over a weekend, and managing to see over the course of 4 days my DS, my dad, my sister and her family, my brother, and my aunt. It was a busy weekend, but very rewarding.
- participating in the annual New Year's banquet which our Center holds for the South Asian community here in Chicago. It was several hours of music, poetry and speeches from different groups, mostly in Urdu, following by lovely Pakistani food -- served at the traditional South Asian suppertime of 9 pm. ;-)
- spending an inordinate amount of time fiddling with my internet browser, which was giving me problems. Thankfully, I have found a solution to my problem, and in the process have set up a new place for myself on my computer which I am enjoying very much.
- whittling away at my List of Doom. It's the same List I had last year, so that's unfortunate, but I trust that within the next month or so I can have all the things written on it ticked off so I can write a new List of Doom for the new year! :-)
