ITV has commissioned two new Sharpe tv movies from Picture Palace/Celtic Film, the original producers of the series. So it looks like it is Picture Palace/Celtic Films. Sources for this info were Muir Sutherland (producer of Sharpe), Bernard Cornwell and Chris Clarke (Sharpe Appreciation Society).

One further tidbit I discovered is that according to a guy at ITV: "the Sharpe drama would be based on an original story written for TV and would probably be shot on location in India." Though from my other research, it seems the tale is also based on Tiger and Fortress.
If you don't mind, I'll let you go ahead and do the contacting if you want, since you have done it before. If you organize a campaign, I'm sure we can get some folks to back us. ;-)
