We got home this morning at 3 am -- no rain to speak of, and traffic wasn't too bad, considering -- so our trip went as well as any driving trip can go where you are driving 18 hours across 5 states. We caught a few hours of sleep...
And then the day began in earnest!
Got up around 8 am, got dressed, and with coffee in hand, I set out to catch up on email. The computer decided it was going to be ornery! While I was trying to get the computer to stop messing up so I could go online, a guest arrived -- all this before 8:30 am! The guest was not entirely unexpected, but I wasn't planning on her coming THAT early, so I didn't have her room ready. Well, I dealt with that, and got the computer to cooperate, got to drink my coffee, and all was well.
Then the phone on the other line kept ringing, but would be cut off. So, Hubby and I went to investigate. Discovered we could call out on one line, but calls couldn't come in. We have phones on all three floors for two different lines (one is dedicated to the internet), and it seems the phone on 3rd floor is malfunctioning. That one has been unplugged, so all is well again (and I can be online once more without fear of missing a call from someone).
Now I am all hot from running up and down the stairs in the world's most humid house. I think I may have to go sit in front of the AC for awhile...
I won't even mention the piles of dirty sheets and towels left from the guests who were here while we were gone, and the stuff in the fridge that was leftover before we left and didn't get thrown out...
And I thought I was going to have a vacation day today!
Maybe I'll have another cuppa, and try again...

would have been nice if the guests could have put their dirty linens in the washer and dryer before they left, but oh well.
