Thirdly and finally, he said, I wish to make an ANNOUNCEMENT. He spoke this last word so loudly and suddenly that everyone sat up who still could. I regret to announce that - though, as I said, eleventy-one years is far too short a time to spend among you - this is the END.

Well, it's not really the end, so don't worry. But there is going to be a change! While I'm not going to disappear as suddenly as Bilbo did -- and I'm not going to disappear at all, actually -- I AM going to be moving. I won't go into all the details, but the short version is that since June, we have known that we would no longer be involved in the running of our mission's guest house, and we have been looking into other options.

Much prayer and discussion went on during the ensuing months, and we now have a plan -- at the end of October we will be moving to the Midwest, first to Wisconsin for a time, and then on to Chicago. We hope to become involved with a work there among Pakistanis.

While the process of getting to this point was a bit of trial, we can now see that this is going to be a GOOD THING. My hubby has been unhappy in his position here at the office, and the work in Chicago will be much more along the lines of what he wants to do. And it's the next step to getting back overseas. Our son is excited as well, because he wants to return to the Midwest where it is cold and they have real winter. ;-) He has other, better reasons, too, hehe, but living where it is cooler is a major issue with him.

I shall very much miss my dear ones here in Pennsylvania (yes, you know who you are!), but while we are moving out of the state, we will be back at times, because we are still connected to our mission office here.

If you don't see me around sometimes, it won't be because I disappeared suddenly like Bilbo did -- it's because I'm frantically sorting, discarding and packing all the junk we've managed to accumulate in two years here, while working around the guests who are still scheduled to come between now and then, and my copyediting work at the office. Strengthening prayers and thoughts would be appreciated!

And now, I'll disappear -- but I'm only going as far as the conference room for a meeting!

Happy and sad describes it well, doesn't it? Funny how one can be both. I shall miss having you so close, my dear. I've been so lucky to have you close by these past months!

(((Lin))) May you wear Good Fortune like a coat, my friend! I hope all the moves go smoothly, and that you aren't out of touch for long.

((((Loth))))

I imagine I'll actually stay in touch quite often, to the detriment of my packing. ;-) My greatest fear is being without the internet when we first get where we're going. Withdrawal, eeek! But I guess there's always the library...

I don't want to think about it...but of course, I'll be moving myself eventually so...

But still.

Sniff.

I don't want to think about leaving you, either. It's been glorious being able to get together so often -- and know that we could if we wanted to, even if we didn't.

*sniffly hugs*

This is so funny. I have not been able to picture you in Pennsylvania at all. Last month my husband got stuck in Scranton for days on end with all flights continually cancelled so he finally rented a car and drove down to Philadelphia. I wasn't sure where you were in Pennsylvania and commented when he got back that I had trouble remembering where you were because I still picture you in Wisconsin (must be my love of cheese).

So to guide you on your way home, here is Numen Lumen, the motto of Wisconsin:

I'm sorry to have missed your hubby -- though he would have probably gone east of us if he went from Scranton to Philly. We are in Reading.

I must say, we have greatly missed Wisconsin cheese. ;-)

I'm not familiar with that Wisconsin motto -- the one I learned in school was "Forward." That applies, I suppose, doesn't it? Forward to our new venture!

James and I both finished Chapter 28 and I must say you just keep getting better. I told him you are planning a move and we both understand if you cant get to the next Chapter until Christmas time, but agree it is worth the wait.
Thank you for keep Boromir Alive and this tale.

Don't worry, it will be before Christmas. The next chapter might even be soon, but it's hard to say. I tend to get writer's block when I have too much on my plate, but I can certainly deal with my stresses better after I have produced a new chapter -- catch 22! Thanks so much to both of you for reading -- and being patient, too!

Well you must go where the Lord sends you. I do hope that you have a safe trip. While you are there see if there is anything within the victim's advocate jobs your way. I am wanting to move out of Kentucky when I get done with school in May. (((((((lin and family))))))
