linaewen: (Fighting to Get Ahead from Kasiopea)
I'm having one of those days where the call of the Boromir muse is louder than anything else, but I don't feel right about shirking my duty to other work to lose myself in Middle-earth. How irritating! ;-)

So, in order to be free to spend some time doing something fun and creative, I need to try to do the following:

- stop procrastinating and write some RW letters
- stop procrastinating and make some phone calls (one in particular is about an insurance problem that will just get worse if I don't take care of it)
- take down the tree and decorations and put the stuff away where we won't be tripping on it
- put some more stuff away so our place is less cluttered
- finish putting together some stuff that needs to be taken to the post office
- go to the library with books due today

Sheesh, hope I have some time for fun stuff. Maybe I'll procrastinate on some of these things...

Or better, I'll reward myself with no-guilt writing after I get at least 3 of these things done!

sounds like a irritatingly busy, but nitpicky kind of day. I hate those kind. Although...the good thing about days like that is these things are fairly quick and easy to check off a list. Here's what I recomend....make the ins phone call. That sounds too important to put off. Get the stuff together for the post office and drop that off on your way to the Library. After returning your library stuff, sit down at one of the library's cozy table and pull out the writing pad that you will no doubt have brought with you and let your muse out.

see....you will have done three things and then you can write for a while guilt free at the library where the other things you have to do won't be staring you in the face.

I haven't even begun to think about taking down my Christmas decoratoins. I think i'm going to go for a new record and see just how long I can leave them up. Last year I think I got into March. hmmm

I managed to keep my tree up until June of last year. The Christmas decorations came down the beginning of January, but then other things went on the tree, hearts for Valentines day, shamrocks for St. Patrick's day, eggs for Easter, and flowers for May. LOL! My folks were going on vacation in June and my dad decided that if the tree was still up in July he would decorate with fireworks. 8-0 So I took it down. Hope you got done what needed to be done yesterday, including a little writing. Love, Ladyhawk Baggins.
