linaewen: (The Cheese of Narsil from boz4pm)
It's one of those "small, fat, this and that" kind of days, so here's what's going on with me, in a nutshell:

Had to clean the fridge yesterday, to locate something that smelled very bad. Guess we didn't finish some curried lentils over the weekend. That's a dish that is lovely to smell when freshly cooked, but is NOT NICE when it has turned on you. Ick!

Driving practice began again yesterday with my son, in a car he was not used to. He did well, but it made me carsick! Ugh! He'll smooth out eventually in his driving, but in the meantime, I'd better take something for the motion sickness before we go out.

Spent hours last night watching episodes of a show with my son that he likes -- an anime cartoon from Japan called Naruto. It's really quite good! And it's always fun to do something with my boy and talk about it afterwards.

Both my son and I are trying to lose weight -- he needs to lose a lot, I need to lose a bit. Sigh! We have set goals so that when we reach a certain weight we can spend some money on something we each want to get. Maybe it will help us stick to our diets for a change.

I have some projects I need to finish this week, that have been hanging over me like the sword of Damocles. I know I would feel so much better if I would just do them -- why can't I, I wonder? Grrr! I shall be making a major effort along those lines today.

My sciatica was a pain (literally) over the weekend, but not a problem yesterday. Today, it remains to be seen what it is going to do. A walk in the cold and sunshine today would be a good thing to include on the list of very, very important things to do today.

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go...

I really like that idea of rewarding yourself when you reach a goal!
I need to kick the weight loss plan up a notch again, maybe a reward would be good incentive!

GOod luck to both you and Nathan. It does seem a bit easier when you can do it with another person, so maybe you two can lean on each other for support. :)

And take that walk! Sciatica pain is horrid! ((((((((((you)))))))))))

eWWWW...Decaying Lentils of Doom.

And I know what you mean about the diet- I haven't been on a scale, but I think I've lost a little bit, anyway, since clothes that were too tight fit better now. I'm not sure about a lunchtime walk today since the brick sidewalks of West Chester get slippery, but I can always walk either before Awana or after I get home up in the nice warm shop.

And my theme song is, "I owe, I owe, so off to work I go..."
;-) love and hugs!

Hmmmm...when the leftovers reach out for you when you open the fridge, that isn't good. Some of them can get downright aggressive!
