I was feeling discouraged because my son had not heard back about a call he had made about a paper route, but I kept praying about it and tried not to lose hope. Hubby and I went grocery shopping, and as we got home, I prayed that a call had come to say Nathan had got the job. Guess what met my eyes when I came into the room? A brand new "paper boy bag" that had been delivered for my son's use, starting tomorrow!

God is good!

He's got the job delivering the local advertising newspaper two days a week. In fact, he's going to try doing two routes, on a trial basis. It doesn't pay much, but it's a start for a boy who's never had a paying job except mowing the lawn at our mission office. The routes are walking routes, which will be good for him, and which he wanted. We'll have to drive him around a bit for starters to pick up the papers and get him to the areas of town where he's to deliver -- until he gets his license -- but that's
no problem.

We'll be looking for a more substantial job for him as well, but for now, we are content let him be just a paper boy. It's the first small step to something bigger -- and small steps are usually the best way to get somewhere!
