linaewen: (Happy Captain)
I've been trying to think of something noteworthy to write in my journal today, but I guess I don't have anything. But I can still write, because sometimes journal entries can be mundane as well as exciting, if that's what the day hands you.

I had a glorious day off yesterday, doing nothing in particular, not even writing Boromir. I meant to, but just didn't feel like it. So I didn't do it. That's what days off are for -- having a plan, but scrapping it if you feel like it.

Today I am back at work, with the monthly deadline of writing a prayer bulletin hanging over my head; but it is not hard, and I am much better organized this time around, so I am in good shape. I even have time to check my email and LJ friends at intervals!

One exciting thing is, I got the email saying our ROTK DVD has shipped, so maybe it will arrive before too many days have passed. It's only coming from Philly, so hopefully it won't have to go the long way around Robin Hood's barn to get to Reading -- the trip from Philly to Reading can be done in a matter of an hour or two... but the USPS doesn't ever seem to take the short road, do they? Here's to hope!

My first plan when I get my hands on that DVD -- once I wrest it away from my son, whose birthday present it is meant to be -- is to watch all the Minas Tirith/Gondor parts, and then start from the beginning and watch it all the way through as many times as I can before my boy grabs it back again! :-D I suppose I should let him have first dibs...
