I've been having a bit of a self-imposed vacation since my hubby left, and this is the last day of total loafing -- after this it will only be partial loafing allowed, so that I can get some things done that really do need doing. Not all those things on my List of Doom are onerous things, though, so I'm looking forward to getting to work on them. Tomorrow!
Today my son and I are having a Lord of the Rings marathon, viewing all three (extended) films back to back on our nice, new tv. It's almost 4 pm already, and we've only just made it through FOTR. *sniffles for Boromir* We got a bit of a late start, and had to take breaks so we wouldn't lose our focus! So it will be a bit of a job to get through the other two, but I think we can still do it today. We are having a good time together, tissues in hand, discussing things at times and shushing each other at other times, and seeing new things we hadn't noticed before.
The DH update is that Hubby spent a cold and rainy weekend in the mountains going through our belongings and helping clean up the rented house for vacating. He and the friend who is with him may have left today to go down the hill with a truck full of stuff for storing downcountry where the main mission house is located. Not sure whether they are doing some shopping in Islamabad before they head out or what (hope so, I sent DH with a list!!!) but in any event, they'll need a good 8 hours for the trip south, it's a long haul. But things seem pretty quiet in the country now. All this was reported by another friend who had dinner with them on Saturday night, so I don't have any fascinating DH details, but I expect to hear from him soon.
Back to the marathon -- The Two Towers!
