It's just a little over a month now until Sharpe's Challenge airs on TV -- in Britain. Not sure when it'll come our way here in the US of A, and whether it will be watchable by those without a fancy digital cable connection! I can't wait to see it, especially now that all my memories of life in the Indian subcontinent have been revived by my DH being over there.

For those who can't wait (like me) and need a picture or two, and some plot spoilers, here is a lovely PDF download from the producers of Sharpe's Challenge:

Looks like the story is a combination of three of my favorite Sharpe books (Tiger, Triumph and Fortress) with other stuff added in (and taken out) and the time period changed so that it takes place after the original series ended. *squees in anticipation*

I haven't heard from my DH this morning, which likely means that he has made it "home" to our house we had to vacate so precipitously several years ago, and is busy braving the dusty depths of our stored saman (ie, stuff) to get it sorted for packing in a truck. Hopefully he is not being hindered by too many armed police "guarding" him, nor by Bob, the dog, who is probably beside himself with glee that my hubby is back. Dogs don't forget you, no matter how long you are away. Wish DH could pack Bob up in a suitcase and bring him back with him!

We got some snow yesterday, which means I get to shovel my inlaws driveway while they are away in Florida. Living in an apartment, you don't have to do stuff like that, so I'm kind of looking forward to it, hehe! Shoveling snow is in my blood!

Once the roads clear up a bit, my son and I are planning to make a trip to the capital city (about an hours drive) to do a tour of used bookstores. *more anticipatory squees*

Update: Well, snow shoveling may be in my blood, but that was a lot of work! Big driveway + heavy, heavy wet snow = very tired Lin. But it was good exercise and I didn't get asthma! Had a nice chat with the neighbor, too, who fortunately did not need help shoveling his drive. ;-)

I think we need to make a field trip to England and ask to borrow someone's TV so we can watch it!
;-)
Hope you're doing well today, and that you get your bookstore trip!
