I'm having one of those stare at the screen indecisively moments.  I want to update, because it's an easy form of contact with my friends (if I get replies that is!), but I can't think of anything to say.

Shall I try to be inspirational?  Nothing comes to mind offhand -- which makes me wonder if I'm having a case of the blahs, or what.  I can usually think of something...

Shall I talk about my goals?  Nothing new in that part of the world -- the List of Doom is still there, lurking and calling and bugging me, and I may try to look at it today, or I may not.  We'll see.  I think I will just ignore it, and go off on my planned wee visit with [profile] solodancer today -- which I am looking forward to muchly!  Lists of Doom can wait for another day.

Shall I complain?  Not much to complain about, except my foot, which is bothering me today -- everything else, while not perfect (what is?), is going on well enough for me to be content.

Shall I post an inkling or a Boromir conversation?  I wish!  Not getting anywhere with that these days, unfortunately.

Any ideas, people?  What does one say when one wants to be present and accounted for, but has nothing to say that seems of consequence?

Hmmmmm.....

I think I need a vacation.

Actually, it looks like I'm having a vegetable day.  A vegetable day, you ask?  What's that?

It's from the following wee devotional (paraphrased from Max Lucado) which I posted once in my early days here at LJ, and thought of again just now, when I was feeling blah and uninspired and dull, and in need of a cookie:

Every day God prepares for us a plate of experiences. What kind of plate do you most enjoy? The kind that has the most cookies, of course!  But not every day is a cookie day, unfortunately.

Some days are three cookie days. Many are not. Sometimes our plate has nothing but vegetables, twenty four hours of celery, carrots and squash. Apparently God knows we need some strength and though the portion may be hard to swallow, it's for our own good.  Most days, however, we get a bit of each -- vegetables which are healthy but dull; fruit, which tastes better and we rather enjoy; and even cookies (sometimes more than one), which do little for our nutrition, but a lot for our attitude.

Guess I'll stop staring at the vegetables (even though I like them, usually) and go look for a cookie.  I'm sure there's one around here somewhere!  Then I'll come back and try again.  ;-)
