I had a lovely birthday weekend, and I think it was because so many people were involved -- before, during, and after my official birthday. It matters little to me how many gifts I get, yet to be remembered with much love over an expanse of days, even weeks, really made it special. The many greetings (here at LJ and at the Fanclub), cards and ecards, calls, and yes, gifts, were all part of that. Wish I could have had each and every one of you over for cake! Maybe next year when I turn 50! ;-)
Here is a list of some of the things I squeed over this weekend -- in order of appearance...
- Many, many loving greetings from my LJ family
- Hubby's surprise trip to the capital city for a hike in the Arboretum, which was great fun and definitely something we will do again. Pictures are forthcoming.
- Balloons at my LJ from
maidoforange. Balloons are a must for proper birthday celebrating. ;-) She also wrote a lovely poem!
- The gift of one of my favorite childhood books that a friend of mine found on Ebay and sent to me; I gasped when I saw it, it's out of print these days!
- Q Collective DVD set (Star Trek, yay! Q is so cool, and having all his episodes together is brilliant! Thank you,
samarra! )
- Jacob DVD (Squeee! Sean Bean as Esau! I've been wanting to see this for a long time, Esau is just the kind of fellow SB would do well. 'Course, he does every character well, hee! Thank you,
kimbys_place!)
- Boromir (Yes, Lin's birthday wouldn't be complete without Boromir. Thanks to
siradaono, I have a wee pewter Boromir who will join the autographed Sgt. Harper and Boromir Bobble-head on my desk, guarding my List of Doom. ;-) Thank you!
There are several packages outstanding as yet, which draws my birthday fun out nicely. I also have some birthday money which I have been spending on myself as well as saving to buy something special when the time comes.
Thanks one and all for the part each and every one of you plays in making me feel special and loved -- every day of the year!

Date: 2006-06-20 03:13 pm (UTC)From:Next year, fifty huh? You are my brother's age. Next year I turn forty, he turns fifty and dad turns eighty. I may have mentioned that a time or two, lol, but I just think it's pretty cool.
Was Paul Mercurio in that Jacob film?
