Here is a definition for the day from The Pooh Dictionary:

Very Happy Thursday, phrasal noun: The excuse to give if you and your friends want to get together in Company* (with Smackerels* and Hilarity), perhaps only because it seems a Friendly Day*, and it doesn't seem necessary to wait for a Proper Occasion to Celebrate.

Piglet thought that they ought to have a Reason for going to see everybody... if Pooh could think of something.

Nevertheless, it just so happens that today is not only a Very Happy Thursday, it is also a Proper Occasion to Celebrate -- because today is an Important Birthday!!!

thanks lin. we are having a blustery day today... lots of rain and little light or sunshine but its still a welcome treat against the hot from earlier
