linaewen: (Bag End by John Howe)
We are all excited about the prospect of owning our very own hobbit hole and making it into a "pleasant, comfortable, welcoming place."  But a lot has to happen before we even get the keys to move in -- having our offer accepted is just the first step.  Hubby has been on the phone all morning arranging with the loan people, the inspection people, and the realty people, and working out the details for paying the earnest money.  It's hard to believe that just a little over a month ago we were still thinking like renters and looking at duplexes!  If all works out as we think it will, our mortgage payments are going to be much less than our rent ever was.  We shall see.  In any case, this will be much better, I do believe.  ;-)

I can't wait to move out of our apartment.  As nice as it is, the noise from the interstate is getting worse.  After a year, one would think I would be used to it, but no!  We had to have our windows open last night, it was so warm, and as a result, none of us got very good sleep.  Naps for all today, if we can manage it.

In spite of feeling sleepy, I am otherwise in good spirits.  I am trying to apply myself to finishing up some projects that have been on my List of Doom for far too long, and it feels good to be working on them, knowing they will soon be done.  As long as I don't get distracted, I should be okay.

I am still coughing a bit, and feeling a bit asthmatic today -- which could be allergy, residual cold or just overtired.  Recent changes in the weather seem to have been affecting me and my body doesn't know what to think.  It's hard to believe it is October, it is so very warm today.  Feels more like June!  What a weekend it would have been for camping, if only we had known.  ;-)

My DS got a call this morning for a job interview!!  Yay!  It's for a job at the hospital filing records and such, that he applied for ages ago; today they called and have set an interview for Thursday.  *prays very hard that something will come of this*  He has a few other applications submitted, though he has already heard back from one that he was not chosen.  He has been discouraged about that, but hopefully this will encourage him.
