A Monday in May
May. 3rd, 2004 01:03 amSince I'm up and it's now technically Monday, I figured I might as well do my entry for today.
For the first time in two months, there are no guests in the guest house -- not even my son's friend who had been staying with us the past two months. He has gone back home, and it is nice to be just the three of us again.
For awhile. It won't last long, as we have a ton of guests coming off and on for the next couple of months, starting in mid-May; but for now, it's just us, and we can do things again that are just family things, and I don't have to cook fancy if I don't want to, and I don't have to fuss about anyone's odd sleeping habits (except my own families'), and I have my son to myself again. That's nice!
My big goals for the week include
- doing stuff with my son, including editing some of his writing
- writing my own stuff -- Boromir, of course :-D
- helping hubby with some reports he has to make
- walking more, if my knee allows it (it is still very fussy after I hurt it last weekend)
- driving with my son, who does not yet know how to drive
- trying to get ahead in my writing at the office, so it's not such a crunch at the end of the month.
- spring cleaning before the influx of guests
- go to Walmart (sounds dumb, but it is a major undertaking to get there, and the longer I put it off, the longer the list grows of things I need from there).
That will do to start with; if I add anymore, I won't have room to be flexible. Come to think of it, that should be at the top of my list of goals --
Be flexible, expect the unexpected, and plan on being interrupted. :-D
