All because of Cool Whip
Apr. 2nd, 2005 08:37 amI wasn't thinking ahead the other day when I took a turkey out of the freezer to thaw; we have several of them that we got for free at Christmastime. It is now thawed and has to be roasted this morning -- but we are leaving to go away for the weekend to speak at a church over near Pittsburgh! Duh! Thankfully we won't be leaving until after lunch and since we have a motel booked for us, we can arrive whenever; no one will be waiting on us. But it's not exactly what I had planned to do in the morning while trying to get ready to go away overnight. I won't bother stuffing it, that's for sure.
Here's why I got the turkey out: we seem to have lots of open containers of Cool Whip that need using up, and that goes very nicely with pumpkin pie -- but pumpkin pie goes really nicely with roast turkey. So there you go, that was my train of thought, and that's why I got the turkey out. Now I am roasting turkey this morning (it's in the oven as we speak) but I don't think I'll have time to make the pie! Double duh! ;-) Oh, well, I can make pie when I get back, hopefully my boy won't eat all the turkey while we are gone. Nor the Cool Whip!
Back Sunday night sometime or other.
