The future looks a bit brighter
May. 4th, 2005 01:59 pmI'm feeling rather relieved to have some things providentially removed from my list of things to stress out over -- mostly guest house stuff.
- the work team coming to rip things up and hopefully put them back together newer and nicer is coming a week later than expected, so I have more time to get ready, and I will also miss being there the second week they are here because I will be visiting my folks then. That worked out well!
- the 20+ group of teens and adults coming to work with kids during our conference sessions this summer is staying elsewhere and not with us, so we are free of that expected tussle over the bathrooms. We were actually considering moving out to make room for them all, but thankfully we can stay home! We will still have a full house, but not quite in the same way, and not for a whole week.
- A meeting I didn't want to go to turns out to be one I don't need to go to, so I actually get to be home tomorrow and do home things. I pray that won't change at the last minute!
I still have a List of Doom that is growing heavier and starting to weigh on my mind -- I shall have to do a Boromir conversation about it to exorcise it, I think. I don't like waking up at night thinking of things that have to be done. :-/ But other than that, I am contentedly plugging away at things one by one, and trying not to look too far ahead or at too many undone jobs at once.
