Busy day between breaks
May. 31st, 2005 09:10 amI had a lovely long weekend, in spite of all the renovating fuss going on at my house and the aforementioned waterfall in the bathroom. I hid away most of the weekend and wrote about Boromir, which resulted not only in a chapter, but in a sense of well-being because it was well-spent "me" time. Sunday was very quiet, as a number of our work team folks went away for the day, and that was pleasant as well.
Yesterday was stressful for a time, when the crew decided they couldn't do what we wanted them to do with the kitchen -- AFTER it was too late to turn back -- but I think my dear Hubby has convinced them. ;-)
I had a lovely lunch and glorious afternoon of shopping with
pippinswolf! I came home with two DVD's -- Phantom of the Opera and Equilibrium -- but no National Treasure soundtrack, which was on my list of things to get. Seems to be quite popular, as all the stores are out of it! I shall look in Wisconsin while I am there, and if not, Amazon.com will save me.
When I got home in the evening, I learned that I had missed all kinds of adventures of the "patience-testing" variety, several of which involved copious amounts of water pouring out where it wasn't supposed to. But that all seems to be fixed, and we are back to having working bathrooms.
I have today left to do one office-related editing job, and pack my bag for my trip to Wisconsin. I leave early tomorrow morning to spend the week out there with my family, to celebrate my folk's 50th wedding anniversary (June 4) and my dad's 80th birthday (June 5). They might throw in a birthday party for me while I'm there, which happens later on in the month.
I will be glad to be gone from here for a bit, for my own sanity, but I feel bad about leaving Dear Hubby to cope alone. He 's been needing plenty of hugs by the end of the day these days -- I just had to give him a big one to help him deal with something unexpectedly irritating. :-|
Edited Drat! The office email site is down, and I can't access the document I need to work on. That means I will have to go in to the office to work on it. Oh, well, it will get me out of the house, but it means I have to do something with my hair now. >:-/
