Happy Anniversary
Jun. 4th, 2005 08:22 amToday is the anniversary of the day my parents wed -- 50 years ago! My dad vowed he would get married before he turned 30, and he managed it -- by a day. ;-) Tomorrow is his 80th birthday, so we're having a double celebration. Tonight it will be a quiet meal out with the siblings and my mom's sister who lives in town, and tomorrow the rest of the family will show up, as well as whoever can come from church, to an open house in their honor. My dad is convinced no one will come! :-D What a silly!
I've been having a good visit here, not only with the folksbut with others as well -- my brother and sister, my aunt, my best friend, and some ladies in our church who pray for me daily and have supported our work overseas. solodancer yesterday, too, which was great -- we had good talk, good food, good fellowship with the rest of the family, I got to see bits of JCS (wow!), and I got to see Hurley the hamster (cute).
Today it's more visitng, setting up for the open house and running errands. And hopefully a nap!
