News of some import

Yesterday my son had his last class of the semester at the local community college -- Intro to Philosophy. After having to leave school two years ago because of poor grades, he has learned that he is is getting an A- in this class, and the teacher is recommending him for the college's Honor Society. She also wants him to be in her Honors Ethics class in the spring (if he has not returned to his previous college by then). During their final classtime, the students had kind of an informal conversation time while the teacher finished grading, and Nathan discovered to his amazement that the other students like him and admire him and his ability to look at issues from a whole new perspective -- he was actually popular! He finally got to explain why his perspective is so unique and the others were quite interested in what he had to share about growing up in Pakistan.
Not so very exciting news
Hubby and I have a meeting this afternoon with the head of our organization -- a review of our last two years here at the office and probably discussion of our future involvement. As with all such reviews, no matter how encouraging and wonderful it turns out to be, there is always an element of fear and apprehension that there will be changes made -- or at least suggested -- when one least expects it. When we originally came on board it was for two years, and that time is almost up. Thus the review. Interestingly enough, though we want to remain for more time here, the idea of actually committing to it and thus definitely postponing a return overseas is almost as worrisome as other options -- especially for my Hubby, who is less fulfilled in his work here.
I ask that you would all pray with me that we would transparent and open and flexible, and able to make any decisions that need to be made as a result of the meeting, in the best interests of our family's needs. I am hoping to be able to report tomorrow that this not so very exciting news, is actually really very exciting. ;-)
Definitely not exciting news
I have a cold. It is not a very bad cold, but it is enough that I feel quite lethargic -- and I must look lethargic, because people have asked me if I am okay! I have way too much work to do in many different areas, for me to be sick going into the weekend. I am working now, but plan to go home for a bit before my afternoon meeting, and take a nap. Hopefully I'll have the energy it will take to clean up after the work team in preparation for guests arriving on the weekend.
Yet even though I am worried (probably unnnecessarily) about the meeting this afternoon, and even though I feel rather yucky, I am VERY excited and encouraged by my son's progress in school. May he be as successful in learning to drive and getting a part-time job that suits his needs, and may I know what to do to help him to that end.
