At last, a word from my DH
Mar. 7th, 2006 08:20 amHubby couldn't email yesterday as their internet connection was down. But he dropped me a note this morning, and I'm hoping to hear more before it's his time to go to sleep.
He was allowed in to our place in the restricted area and was able to load up all our stuff into two trucks. Sounds like he just loaded up everything, without bothering to sort through it, so he will still have to do that. Ugh, that is going to be a Herculean task, to be sure. But at least we'll know where it is and what it is and I might even see some of it again, depending on what he decides to bring/ship back. He'll be sending me digital photos and lists to help him make decisions on stuff.
Along with that, he was able to check into some irregularities in the running of the office we were in charge of there, and it looks like some people are going to have to be fired. It's sad, because we have been good friends with them. It sounds like at least some of those in the wrong are acknowledging their weakness, so that brings a little encouragement into the picture. It's going to be a hard week of confrontation for Hubby and those who are helping him make decisions. Prayers and good thoughts for my DH and for those who are going to have to face the music would be much appreciated.
Hubby has two weeks left to do everything that needs doing, so hopefully that will be enough to wrap up the disciplinary stuff as well as to set in motion new guidelines for the running of the work -- and get our stuff sorted and repacked for storage or transport back to the US. Prayers and good thoughts for that, too, please!
In other news, I'm feeling the effects of shoveling snow yesterday, with a wee twinge in my shoulder and arm, but nothing serious. Too bad I didn't just wait, because it's probably all going to melt today anyway! :-D
