Memories of dialup
May. 14th, 2006 09:10 pmI'm at my parent's house, we decided to stay a second night, just so we could relax a bit. I have my laptop set up on the kitchen table, hooked up with a loooooong phone cord to their phone line, so I don't have to use my folk's computer. Being on dialup is bad enough, but I can run around the house twice in the time it takes their dinosaur to load a webpage -- if it doesn't lose the dialup connection first. :-D
I got to see my sister today, squeee! Our adventure of the afternoon was to all go together to explore the brand new Super Walmart that just opened a few weeks ago here. Nice!
The PowerPoint presentation thingy went off without a hitch this morning. However, it did seem to go mysteriously faster than it was supposed to. I didn't know time moved faster in one place than in another (except on Star Trek), but I guess it must, at least where different computers are concerned. One would think that X number of seconds per slide would mean the same whether it's on our laptop, our desktop or the church's fancy projection equipment. Ah, well, no one noticed -- except hubby and me!
We're heading home tomorrow morning sometime, at which time I will decide what my goals for the week will be -- or won't be!
