A welcome welcome
Aug. 21st, 2006 07:50 pmWe've been staying in our old house as guests for the weekend, and it has been nice. Our entire weekend has been one long attack of deja vu, so to speak, where we found ourselves slipping right back into things as they were last year when we were living and working in Reading, PA. That was quite relaxing, in a way! And I have to say, it is definitely interesting being a guest in the place where once I was hostess. There were a few things that were odd, of course, and a few things we noticed that ought to be dealt with -- but it's not our part any more, and for that, I am glad.
One of the highlights of the weekend was time spent with my girls
samarra (lunch) and
kimbys_place (supper). It truly was like we hadn't been apart for nine months -- it seemed like just last week that we were last together! I trust the time that passes until our next meeting will seem as short. ;-)
I have at times missed the work I did here in the office and running the Guest House, but coming back was good, because I can see more clearly than ever that we are in the right place, heading the right direction now -- and others believe that as well. We were welcomed with open arms, confirmed and advised and prayed for thoroughly throughout the whole weekend here, and it was very helpful -- not to mention encouraging! Not that we expected any less, but it's always encouraging to have normally sedate people run squeeing to hug you when you poke your head in at their door. ;-)
I want to say more, but I'm supposed to be packing! I'll try to spend the next week reviewing my trip for you all so you know what I was up to all this time I wasn't here! The long and the short of it is, we are well rested, destressed, and feeling very content right now -- and thankful to be able to say that.
We leave tomorrow early to drive from Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern Wisconsin, all in one day. It will take awhile, but it's a pleasant drive, and we can sleep in our own bed when we get there.
Though I have to admit, the beds at the Guest House sure are comfy...
