Check Plus

A friend of ours has a fun way of commenting on how things are going -- if something bad or irritating happens, she assigns a  "check minus" to it, and "check plus" is reserved for all those good things that happen in a day or when someone accomplishes a goal or does a good job at something.

I had a check plus sort of day yesterday -- in spite of the usual runaround that tends to throw me off balance.  In other words, I was successful in accomplishing my goal of running through the day with perseverance (even though there were a few detours).  Here's what I managed to get done:

- stayed off the computer long enough to get somewhere with my work
- shopped at the Salvation Army store with DH and bought a $50 flat top stove/oven for the house, then got some exercise helping load and unload it
- checked out Goodwill and picked up a better stereo CD player to replace our junk one.  Something about getting a new house makes you want to buy more stuff!
- picked up a few groceries
- cooked lunch, ate leftovers for supper, and managed to stay within my WW points
- finished two pending writing projects, almost finished a third
- walked for exercise
- still had time in the evening to do emails, do the rounds of all the blogs and message boards I look in at, and be on YM with some friends.

Today I think I shall apply myself to a couple more writing projects (work-related emails, a newsletter mailing, montly reports), cleaning out some clutter (particularly paper clutter), maybe some packing of nonessential things to get ready for moving, laundry, and vacuuming.  I also have to get to the library, to pick up something I have on hold there.

I shall also be putting on my thinking cap for the purpose of writing something for the Amazing Adventure Weekend  challenge coming up.  Don't know what that's all about?  Well, let me tell you....

And now, to get off the computer, get my breakfast in me, and commence persevering through another day.  I shall look in at intervals, to see how everyone is doing!

Blessings on your day, my friends.
