A good day to be out in the world
Oct. 13th, 2006 08:56 amIn spite of the fact that yesterday's main event was to speak in public, I had one of the most relaxing days I've had in a long time! The following things worked together to make it a very pleasant day:
As I work -- or don't work, as the case may be -- rest assured that each and every one of you is in my thoughts and prayers. I'm hoping for much encouragement and blessing for each one of you today, no matter what it is you are facing or fearing.
- I was alone in the car and not in a hurry to get were I was going
- It was briskly cold yet the sun was shining brightly most of the time
- The fall colors were glowing when the sun shone on them
- There was a substantial dusting of snow on the fields and flurries in the air -- beautiful!
- The car cassette player was turned up loud to get the full benefit of Scottish pipes and fiddling
- The public speaking was a breeze because I was among friends
- Lunch was potluck and amazingly deliciou -- I decided to give myself a day off from WW points, so I enjoyed it even more
- I was in the vicinity so visited my folks for a bit, and that was good
- I met a friend at Super Walmart and had a great chat, even though I didn't buy anything
- The drive home was just as relaxing, in spite of the toe-tapping fiddling coming from the cassette player
As I work -- or don't work, as the case may be -- rest assured that each and every one of you is in my thoughts and prayers. I'm hoping for much encouragement and blessing for each one of you today, no matter what it is you are facing or fearing.
