A Painter's Wish for Verse Thursday
Feb. 15th, 2007 02:10 pmThere is no special thing happening in my life at the moment that drives me to post this particular poem -- though the desire to attain such an ability is certainly there! It's just a poem that spoke to me, and I wanted to share it. ;-)
A Painter's Wish
I would like to paint a meagre fragment
of the shabbiest everyday, so worn and grey,
but radiant with that fire that made
the whole world leap from the Creator's hand.
I would like to show how what we disdain
is holy and deep and the Spirit's attire.
I would like to paint a wooden spoon in such a way
that people had an inkling of God!
