This and that
Apr. 23rd, 2007 10:02 amMany, many thanks all my gardening friends for such a marvelous response to my plea for suggestions for my wee patch of earth. We haven't quite made a decision yet on what's going in that corner, but we have some great ideas now -- and I'm keeping it all in mind for other corners of the yard as well. We're off to go plant shopping today after a bit of a coffee break, and I'm taking my list.
Speaking of lists, I found a to-do list from last month, and it was appalling and rather discouraging to see how many items on that list are still pending after more than a month. These are jobs and projects that ought to have been over and done with by now, and they really aren't optional. That's not to say I haven't been busy or working on things, but somehow, it seems what gets put on my list of jobs to do are the things I avoid the most! Maybe I'd better stop writing lists... ;-)
Anyway, I think I had better push ahead on those things, especially in the next day or two. I have another foray to the dentist planned for Thursday, so I am expecting to be feeling like not doing much of anything after that.
We are hoping to hear this week whether DS got the job he interviewed for earlier in the month.
The trees on our street are finally starting to get some leaves on them, though our two catalpa trees are still looking barren -- except for the long beany pods on them that are causing quite a lot of litter in our yard and on the street! I'm looking forward to the flowers that will be coming in May or June, even though I hear they cause quite a bit of litter of their own. Little did I know we would be doing so much raking when we bought a house, lol! There's lots of things one doesn't think about with being a homeowner, until it happens.

Guess I'll go have that coffee now, and then it's off shopping. Hopefully I will be able to get some things on my list done today, in between the raking I'll be doing and the inevitable "let's plant these this minute" I'll be hearing from the DH as soon as we get back from our trip to the nursery.
