Back in more ways than one
Aug. 20th, 2007 10:34 amWell, I'm back online, on my own computer, not to mention back in my old haunts of several years ago. I've been able to check my email as we moved around this past weekend, but not using my own machine, so contact was limited. Guess it was only three days or so, but it seemed like more, lol!
Anyway, we are no longer in NJ at the conference we were attending, we are now in Reading PA hanging out until our next conference. I am set up with my computer in the wee lounge off the kitchen, right next to the office where I used to work at being copy editor in our organization's main office. Interestingly enough, it feels almost the same as when I worked here -- the same people wander by and stick their heads in to say hi, and it still smells strongly of coffee -- which is invigorating, even without drinking a cup!
Hubby used to work in maintenance here at the office, so of course he couldn't resist doing it again -- he has volunteered to help the current maintenance guy with some things, particularly painting. So while he is off doing that, I am working on various writing projects (and I don't mean fanfiction, though that is on the list of things to do as well!).
The Guest House, which we were also in charge of when we were here, has been sold, so we can't go over and oggle the place, alas! Maybe we'll wander by the outside and have a look anyway. ;-)
DS is doing well in our absence; they are giving him lots of work hours at McDonalds so he's keeping very busy.
Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with everyone better in the coming days, at least until our next conference begins this coming Sunday!
