Glad to be back
Sep. 4th, 2007 08:41 amEver have so much to talk about that you don't even know where to start, so you don't say anything? That's how I feel right now! I'm back from my journeying and there is so much I could tell you about -- but I don't know how to begin. ;-)
I won't give you the long version right now, but as the days go by, I'll probably share bits and pieces of the things that were significant about our time away. That will probably be less sleep-inducing, lol!
So, in a nutshell, I am finally back after several weeks of traveling and attending conferences. It was a good time away, very uplifting and encouraging, and we got to see a lot of people who are dear to us. I had intermittent online access, so I was able to at least read what was going on in my friends lives -- most of the time.
The time away wasn't perfect, as we did have car trouble that set us back a bit money-wise, but that was only a thorn in our flesh for a short time and we are happy to have it dealt with! In spite of the hassle of having our car die on us in the middle of heavy traffic, it happened to be in a city where they could actually figure out what the problem was and fix it -- which hadn't been happening here at home. The car actually got fixed twice, since they didn't find the real problem the first time -- but they gave us the second one for free, which was a great, great blessing.
Though it was a great time away, I have to say, it really is good to be home! I found myself quite weary yesterday, and I think that was just me being able to finally relax because I was home. Not that I wasn't relaxed and enjoying my time away -- but I was away and not home, and that makes a difference, doesn't it? We slept on some nice beds during our travels, as well as some not so nice ones, but I am glad to be back in my very own bed -- even though it could be classed as one of the not-so-nice ones, lol!
Our DS had a good opportunity to see what it was like being in charge of the house while working pretty much full-time. He did pretty well, actually. It wasn't perfect, but the next time we leave for an extended time, I think he'll know better what things need an extra effort. ;-) So, in addition to the unpacking and laundry from our trip that is staring me in the face, I have a bit of cleaning and gardening to do.
But I'm still really, really glad to be back.
