Hello, my dears!  Sorry to be so scarce here these days, but believe it or not, I have kept up -- with the reading of daily entries, anyway.  Posted stories will have to wait until December but I'll catch up eventually.

In the meantime, I have been scurrying to and fro packing boxes until I hate the sight of cardboard!  I also have duffle bags and giant international-travel-apppropriate suitcases I can fill when I run out of the boxes.  Yesterday was a really good day for packing and I got a lot done -- enough that the end is actually in sight!  Which is a good thing, because today is really the last full day I have left to pack.  Tomorrow I want to do more cleaning than packing, once we move everything out -- including the furniture that still remains.  My landlord-provided cleaning list is long, and I want to give myself plenty of time to do everything right.

I have an offer from some friends to help me clean on Wednesday night, but I'm kind of hoping to be done by then.  We want to sleep in the new house Wednesday night, so I don't want to be hanging out at the apartment until all hours if I can help it.  We shall see!  It's nice to know I have backup.  Unfortunately, I shall have to clean my kitchen at the new place before I can put anything away in there.  The other rooms are in good shape, but that one never got a once over.  So that will have to be faced very soon.

Even more unfortunately, my lower back is starting to bother me, so I am going to have to be careful about what I lift.  It's not bad, but it's bothering me more than it has for some time, so I am going to be very careful -- as careful as I can be and still get moved out on time!  I have hot and cold packs and a brace to hold them in place that helps a lot, and I'm taking ibuprofen (aka Brufen in Pakistan) on a regular basis.  I didn't sleep well last night because of it, so I'm hoping my pep won't suffer from that.  It helps immensely with the packing and sorting when the brain and the body are feeling energetic!

Unfortunately again, hubby has not been able to help me with packing up, as he is over at the house trying to get the plumbing in so we have a bathroom that works!  :-/  This reminds me greatly of all the times in Pakistan when we were getting ready to travel, and he'd be fixing the car at the last minute.  It has to be done, and he can do it, but it's an added stress.  Hopefully today the plumbing will be in place and I'll see him again over here.  I have my DS to help, thankfully, but he has his own packing to do, and also a paper route to prepare for this evening and tomorrow!

Ah, well!

I probably won't be online after today, until Friday -- hopefully!  Our phone is getting switched on Wednesday, so we'll have no phone services until it gets hooked up again -- and no internet until Thursday, if all goes well.  Assuming that works out nicely, and we find a place in the pile of boxes to set up a computer, we'll be back in business for the weekend.

My List of Doom for this week includes:
  • Tuesday -- pack like crazy, and drink coffee like there's no tomorrow
  • Wednesday -- pack and clean like crazy, and move furniture
  • Thursday -- clean like crazy, then turn over the keys to the apartment by noon, and then go HOME
  • Friday and onwards -- unpack like crazy
Strengthening prayers would be appreciated!

ETA:  Please add knees to that prayer list!  There's just something about going down stairs with heavy boxes that make knees think they've had enough!

Other than that, the day is progressing nicely.  The coffee is helping.  Maybe if I have some chocolate with it...

Hurray! I have tried to post about a dozen times and I keep getting an "infinite loop" error. I am trying to decide if the universe is trying to tell me something, lol!

I am sending comfy thoughts to your knees and back and praying for you to have all the energy you need to accomplish this positive move with grace and ease. ((((((((Lin))))))))

Quit loafing around and get busy, won't you?
Tee hee.
*vigorously rubs the sore spot on your back and sends tons of virtual coffee and chocolate*

Remembering you and yours. and yer poor knees too.
I am boxing too. To keep peace in MY home I am boxing up all my LOTR, Sharpe, King, books and stuff and putting them aside.
It seems my likes are not welcomed; opening displayed, and I guess I do over do it and it is not only my house.
So
back in the closet I go.
and my retort to Holiday greetings is;
I wish.

sorry to be a bummer here.

((((You)))) That's hard! Sorry it had to come to that, but sometimes it's us who have to give ground to keep the peace, isn't it? Not fair, but peacekeeping isn't always fair. I hope your gesture does not go unnoticed or appreciated, because I know it's a very hard thing not to be able to display the things one loves!

Be sure you box things so you can get at them, though -- not being openly displayed doesn't mean you can't still read them and look at them, does it?

of course I shall continue to read everything.
My books will be relocated to upstairs, out of way, book cases and attic.
Art books, History books, and such will be in the family room now. The ones that no one ever even picks up but are good for show...go figure.

truth be known I could not be stretched thinner than I am right now.
the line is drawn
I am wasted in every way.
I need time to do its good works.
I'll stay in touch.
be careful moving ok?

Prayers winging your way. You are amazing. I'm so happy and excited for you. Someday, someday I'll have a place I can call home. ~~ LHB

I remember how happy I was when I got Internet back at the house after the storm and, before that, when I got it after moving in. I do hope that goes smoothly. I'm sorry your back is hurting and miss you! ((((Lin)))).
