Here's a bit of Wisconsin-style humor for a Monday morning, which came in my email yesterday -- the funniest part is, it's truer that anyone would care to imagine, at least for Wisconsinites!
COLD ENOUGH?

60 above zero:

Floridians turn on the heat.
People in Wisconsin plant gardens.

50 above zero:
Californians shiver uncontrollably.
People in Madison sunbathe.

40 above zero:
Italian & English cars won't start.
People in Wisconsin drive with the windows down.

32 above zero:
Distilled water freezes.
The water in Lake Michigan gets thicker.

20 above zero:
Floridians don coats, thermal underwear, gloves, wool hats.
People in Wisconsin throw on a flannel shirt.

15 above zero:
New York landlords finally turn up the heat.
People in Wisconsin have the last cookout before it gets cold.

Zero:
People in Miami all die.
People in Wisconsin close the windows.

10 below zero:
Californians fly away to Mexico
People in Wisconsin get out their winter coats.

25 below zero:
Hollywood disintegrates.
The Girl Scouts in Wisconsin are selling cookies door to door. (True!)

40 below zero:
Washington DC runs out of hot air.
People in Wisconsin let the dogs sleep indoors.

100 below zero:
Santa Claus abandons the North Pole.
People in Wisconsin get upset because they can't start the Mini-Van.

460 below zero:
ALL atomic motion stops (absolute zero on the Kelvin scale.)
People in Wisconsin start saying...'Cold 'nuff fer ya?'

500 below zero:
Hell freezes over.
Wisconsin public schools will open 2 hours late.
The current temperature as I write this is 20 degrees, with a Real Feel temp of 10.  We're expecting a heat wave today, however -- it's to get up to 40 degrees.  I'll be sure to roll my car windows down when I go out today.  ;-)

Howling with laughter! Omigosh, how funny. And...

50 above zero:
Californians shiver uncontrollably

How true! :D

I love that! (Though I'll have to convert your weird Fahrenheit to really appreciate it. *g*)

This must be a "northern states" thing - I've seen this for Buffalo (NY) as well, and yes, it's pretty true for us too!

We are supposed to hit 27 today - possibly break freezing at least once by the end of the week. Woohoo! I'm just glad I don't live a little East of here in Oswego county...

Having lived for some years in West Yellowstone, Montana (yes, the one on the weather maps), I can totally appreciate both the truth and the humor of this.

I can also appreciate the winters in Texas. "Winter coat? Do I have a winter coat? Ohhh, yes, the down-filled parka I wore in W.Yellowstone!" Mostly, though, I just wear a hooded sweatshirt over whatever layers I've got on. LOL!

*hugs and ice-cream cones for your heat wave*

That reminds me: We attended university in the mountains of northern Utah -- an agricultural college that has its own dairies and (drool) ice-cream shops. It was very common to see students in sub-zero temps, all bundled up, walking along eating ice-cream cones! I myself waited until it was above freezing to eat ice cream outside. I know, I was a wimp.
