Oops, it's hubby's birthday!

My hubby was scheduled to be away in New Jersey all month for a conference, except for a few quick trips home -- but he's only been gone two days and he's coming back already. It's just until Thursday, but it will be nice to have him back. Especially since today is his birthday!

Since he's going to be here, I now have to scramble and think of something nice to make for supper instead of just the scraps I was planning for myself and my son. :-D

I wonder if he'll be surprised? I bet he's forgotten it's his birthday today; remembering birthdays, even his own, is not something he's good at. ;-) Good thing he has me.

I think I'll go home early from work and see what I can come up with for a nice surprise for him.

I suggest steak, roasted potatoes with olive oil, herbs, parmesan cheese, augmented by chunks of onion and fresh mushrooms, crusty bread and a green salad. ( Oh wait, that's what I cooked tonight...) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MMMMM! Yum! I made breaded pork chops, baked potatoes, green peas -- should have had a salad, but I didn't feel like making one! We had watermelon for dessert, and instead of birthday cake, I made oatmeal cookies with cinnamon chips in them -- something Doug has been begging me to do. So he is content. ;-)
