I've not seen any Habitat for Humanity stores, but it's worth looking into that. Sounds nice.

One does have to be careful with used stuff, I realize. But we've gotten some lovely pieces in the past that haven't been gross at all. One advantage to buying used is you can get the nice old stuff -- like the wing-backed chair we got today that's perfect for me for reading and writing and only cost $12!!! Nowadays the new stuff is all poofy and huge and doesn't work well with my short legs. ;-)
