I always thought it would be nearly impossible to teach English to non-English speakers unless you also speak the student's primary language, or at least a language they can understand. I know there are people teaching extremely diverse groups all at one time with many primary languages. That would be soooo hard. I am sure it's a temptation to use Urdu too much, but it seems to me the folks in your class are better off with a teacher who can understand their questions and respond in Urdu if necessary.
