Today I took my son out shopping for clothes and books -- he's a big guy and couldn't find what he needed at the local Goodwill or Kmart, and he had Borders gift cards to spend. I had a bit of an awkward time finding the clothing store we were looking for -- I knew where it was, but it was in one of these malls that look simple to navigate -- but are not! But we got there eventually, found some good things on sale, and came out to see it was snowing.
Not much, but it was enough to cause my son to skip, because he loves snow and grey weather and cold. After he was done skipping, it was on to Borders. But first, we couldn't bypass one peek at the store that is next to Borders.
Superposeable Boromir!!!! :-D
Yes, Toys R Us came through for me today, for there he was, the only Boromir amidst a stack of various Frodos, Aragorns, Eomers, Gollums and Ringwraiths. I never thought I'd actually see one this side of Ebay, but he is now mine. There was a brief struggle, when my son claimed him because he had seen him first -- but I think it was just out of wanting to tease me, as he knows that I claim all rights to the Man of Gondor, when he can be found on any store shelf.
He is pretty impressive. His gear is quite detailed and appropriately muddy and scuffed -- and his sword is decent for a change. This Boromir actually has his dagger, as well as his shield and horn. His hair is darker than Boromir with Battle Action, but his face looks right. His expression is fascinating!
Superposeable does not, however, mean more able to stand up properly, so Boromir with Battle Action is still feeling superior about his ability to stand without propping. We shall have to have a contest, I think, between the three Boromir action figures -- perhaps even a conversation will come of it!
I have a few hours left before I have to go out again, so I think I shall get me some coffee and do something relaxing...
