linaewen: (Boromir Happy)
Today I took my son out shopping for clothes and books -- he's a big guy and couldn't find what he needed at the local Goodwill or Kmart, and he had Borders gift cards to spend. I had a bit of an awkward time finding the clothing store we were looking for -- I knew where it was, but it was in one of these malls that look simple to navigate -- but are not! But we got there eventually, found some good things on sale, and came out to see it was snowing.

Not much, but it was enough to cause my son to skip, because he loves snow and grey weather and cold. After he was done skipping, it was on to Borders. But first, we couldn't bypass one peek at the store that is next to Borders.

Superposeable Boromir!!!! :-D

Yes, Toys R Us came through for me today, for there he was, the only Boromir amidst a stack of various Frodos, Aragorns, Eomers, Gollums and Ringwraiths. I never thought I'd actually see one this side of Ebay, but he is now mine. There was a brief struggle, when my son claimed him because he had seen him first -- but I think it was just out of wanting to tease me, as he knows that I claim all rights to the Man of Gondor, when he can be found on any store shelf.

He is pretty impressive. His gear is quite detailed and appropriately muddy and scuffed -- and his sword is decent for a change. This Boromir actually has his dagger, as well as his shield and horn. His hair is darker than Boromir with Battle Action, but his face looks right. His expression is fascinating!

Superposeable does not, however, mean more able to stand up properly, so Boromir with Battle Action is still feeling superior about his ability to stand without propping. We shall have to have a contest, I think, between the three Boromir action figures -- perhaps even a conversation will come of it!

I have a few hours left before I have to go out again, so I think I shall get me some coffee and do something relaxing...

LOL I am so happy that you found Boromir action figure. The Men of Gondor will always have a home with you. Son's like teasing moms, I think that is their mission in life.

Um, I can't agree about loving cold and snow (just wait until he has to drive in it). and good for you about the Boromir (though now i'm glad I didn't buy it for you, I almost did.)

You sweetheart! I couldn't risk not getting him, I'm so used to not finding him anywhere.

My boy is one of the few who I know who goes about in this weather with no coat, and is giddy when a blizzard is coming. Driving may snap him out of it. ;-) Or shoveling -- that will be his job if it ever snows enough.

Superposeable Aragorn was there, and he was NOT BAD! I should have bought him, too, because the one Aragorn I have is pretty mediocre. But I thought of that after we had left the store -- when I heard my son speak the works "Superposeable Boromir!" I forgot all else. :-D

Yay Lin!! What a great find. I shall be sure to stay a good distance from Boromirs if I ever go shopping with you... doesn't sound to smart to get too close to them with you around, LOL!

And I'd be skipping too - hurray for snow! Wish there was a bit more of it over here. *sigh*
