That's what I call this icon made for me by
captinskywalker, and that's what's on my mind today. I have a few little ideas for an inkling chapter and I'm eager to work on it, but I suppose I should be responsible and do some work first. ;-)
I'm home today on my usual day off from the office, though it won't be a day off from work. I've got myriad tasks to choose from that need doing, and it's just a matter of deciding which ones are either most urgent -- or least boring so that I might actually do them, hehe! Some of them are hindered by the painting going on, so I might have to put them off for awhile. Though laundry waits for no man...
On the other hand, inspiration does not tarry, so I shall have to work that bit of writing in soon, or lose my ideas! :-D
A few updates:
Folks -- Mom and Dad are doing well. My Dad seems to be fine, and my mom is watching him like a hawk as far as food and blood sugar go. Mom is getting there; still weak, but sounds herself again, so I am encouraged.
Snow -- as usual, we didn't get as much in our city as others did, though much of what fell earlier in the day melted at first. Still, it wasn't good for driving in at all! Our office closed early and is opening late today, for those who have to work today.
Painting -- The chief painter is very nice, very knowledgeable and understands what our decorator has in mind. His dad, who came to help, is less joyful about it, telling us at every opportunity that he doesn't like the choice of colors made by the person in charge of the decorating -- not that he actually has a say. :-/ Though he may think he does, because he has stayed here often in the past. This week will be a true test of my forbearance and good humor. /tiny vent
Good humor restored, I shall now go have another cuppa and get to work on one of my tasks, so that later, I can spend some fun time in my White Tower. I wonder if I can get a load of laundry down the stairs without touching wet painted walls....?

Date: 2005-03-01 02:52 pm (UTC)From:Don't I know it! I am in charge of laundry in this household, so I can sympathize with you on that point only too well. I just got this week's pile sorted, folded, and put away. :)
How troublesome to have a negative painter in the house! That is never fun, but as you say, he has no say in the matter. It will be a test of patience, and perhaps that is what is meant by it. God always has a plan with things.
Keep your eyes raised to Minas Tirith, Lin - you'll come through!
