After 40 chapters, Boromir's finally starting to get somewhere!  ;-)

Thanks for reading!

ETA:  I'm not sure what the weird white patches are in part of the text, I've had that before and it must be something that occurs sometimes when copying the text.  I can't figure out how to get rid of it, sorry!  At least it doesn't impede reading.  ;-)

I thought it might be fitting to end Back to Middle-earth Month with a new chapter of my Boromir AU.  ;-)  This chapter is one I've been waiting to get to for a looooong time, in terms of the story.  I hope you will find it as enjoyable to read as I did to write!

And thanks for reading!

It's only been a little over a month since my last update, but it seems like longer -- this chapter was that hard to write!  But here it is at last, and I hope those of you who are following this tale will enjoy reading it.

Here we go, another chapter at last!  For review purposes, just click on the tag to retrieve previous chapters.  If you've lost track of where we are in the tale, the date is March 10, the Dawnless Day, according to Tolkien's Tale of Years:

March 10 The Dawnless Day. The Muster of Rohan: the Rohirrim ride from Harrowdale. Faramir rescued by Gandalf outside the gates of the City. Aragorn crosses Ringló. An army from the Morannon takes Cair Andros and passes into Anórien. Frodo passes the Cross-roads, and sees the Morgul-host set forth.

Last year on January 1st, I posted Chapter 30 of this tale, and a year later I am only on Chapter 37.  Grrr!  I'll have to do better than that this year, methinks...  ;-)

This is a chapter that wouldn't stop nagging me until I wrote it.  Now that it is written I hope I will be able to concentrate on my RW work!

For previous chapters, just click on the tag link!  Thanks for reading, my friends.

At last, a new chapter, wheee!  ;-)

If you need a review, or think you've missed any, just click on the tag to retrieve previous chapters.  If you're a real stickler for detail and want to know where this chapter fits into the grand scheme of things, the larger part of the "action" in this chapter takes place on March 9 and early March 10, according to Tolkien's Tale of Years:

March 9 Gandalf reaches Minas Tirith. Faramir leaves Henneth Annûn. Aragorn sets out from Erech and comes to Calembel. At dusk Frodo reaches the Morgul-road. Théoden comes to Dunharrow. Darkness begins to flow out of Mordor.

Thanks for reading!

I shall do a post updating my life later on today, but in the meantime, I am pleased to be able to post this, another chapter in the ongoing AU serial tale of Boromir alive (though somewhat the worse for wear), trying to get back to Minas Tirith in time for the big battle.

If you need some review, just click on the tags at the bottom of the entry for some of the most recent chapters.  The story as it has been completed so far can be found at the link for Lords of Gondor on the sidebar of this journal, as well as here:  http://lotrscrapbook.bookloaf.net/stories/serial/lords/index.html

If you do get a chance to read this tale of mine, or plan to in the future at some point, I would love to hear about it in a comment telling me so!  :-)

Having my foot up to reduce swelling is a nice excuse to get some writing done!  Here are the results of my Boromir weekend.  ;-)  The picture is just something that fueled my imagination for the writing of this chapter.

No point in saving this -- now that the writer's block is officially defeated (at least for this chapter), I'm not going to delay a moment longer in posting it!! :-D

I'm sure those who used to follow this tale will be in need of some review, so just click on the tags to find earlier chapters. The link to the complete tale so far is listed in the header of my journal.

This particular chapter is one that I have wanted to write for ages, but I couldn't do it until Boromir got this far in his journey; now he is here and a goal has been reached. Perhaps I can get some of my other work done, now that we have reached this point together.

Though I'm sure he won't be content to stay here long! He has places to go and things to do, and I shall have to write them. ;-)

Read on, while I go attend to some other important tasks that are not Boromir-related...

A new chapter for a new year! Wonder how far I'll get with this tale this year, if I keep at it on a more regular basis? Hmmmm..... :-D

BTW, if you need to peek at the last chapter by way of review, it can be found here in my journal Lords of Gondor Chapter 29. There's also a link at the top of the page to the entire story to date.

Well, Boromir wouldn't let me go off on a new venture without doing one more chapter in his tale, so that's what I was doing on Saturday, instead of packing. It was time well spent, however! It had been far too long (as per my current rate of writing), and I hated to see the story not move on, though the tale passes through sorrow before it can do so.

Here is last month's chapter, if you need to review a bit: Lords of Gondor Chapter 28

In this next chapter, Boromir bids a friend farewell...

Well, it's been more than a month since the last chapter, which was quite a cliff hanger. Hope those who read it haven't fallen into the abyss in despair that they would never find out what happened next. If you missed that one, or want to reexperience what it is like to hang on a cliff for a bit before going on to the next chapter, here you go: Chapter 27

For further review, previous chapters can be found by clicking on the appropriate link on my journal's main page, or by going to the Scrapbook, here: Lords of Gondor

Now then, take a deep breath and see what you think about this chapter...

Being quite under the weather this weekend, I accomplished very little, short of resting and recuperating, but I did manage to get some writing done. 'Bout time, too, since it's been just about 2 months since I last updated this tale, eeek!

I threw off all responsibility this weekend and wrote this. Boromir's happy, I'm happy. Hope my readers will be happy! :-D

It's been three whole months since I last updated this tale; no wonder Boromir is miffed with me. But I think I have him on my side once more. This chapter actually contains a section which was posted earlier, but I found it too short for my taste, so I wrote some more. This is the extended version, which I like better!

In searching for an old poem to use for Verse Thursday, I happened upon a short tale I wrote one day, on a day when I was feeling like asking "What if...?"

To some this ficlet might be familiar, but it's worth dragging out again, I believe, and worth pondering anew. See what you think, and if you have an opinion, please share it!

Oh, and BTW, do read this carefully, because it's a tricksy sort of "what if"...
