... we're too busy and stressed out to even go to church. I've been known to take a break from it now and then when I needed extra rest or was sick or something, but we are all three too worked up about getting ready for "Renovation Week" that we just didn't feel we could take the time to go -- though it probably would have been comforting and spiritually uplifting enough to offset the time "lost" sitting in worship instead of working at home. Ah, well! God knows what we're up against, He'll just have to to the uplifting some other way.

Getting ready for this work team coming this evening sometime is a pain. I don't feel like we know what it is they are expecting from us, so I don't know how much I need to do ahead of time. Wish I felt like they were coming to help us instead of we being here to service them -- sounds like we're going to be assimilated, doesn't it? I'm worried about the women that will be staying here at the house and doing the cooking; I hear they are the bossy type. I'm flexible and can work with anyone, but that can get pretty old after awhile. I sure am glad I'm escaping to Wisconsin for part of the time. And now we hear they think they might want to stay a third week -- when I told them we will start having real guests the first week of June. :-/

Hope I survive this -- with grace, and with my flexibility and good attitude intact.

I've lived in community several times and I do understand how you feel. One time we were to be host to a troup of "kids" from YWAM touring with a street-drama mission. At first, the thought of having 7 or 8 barely-beyond-teenagers stuffed into the already full house was daunting. They were going to have to sleep on the floor on bedrolls and in the basement rooms. But when they showed up I found they were the sweetest, funniest group of kids I'd ever met. We went to a restaurant for breakfast once and the young man at our table ordered a bagel with cream cheese using "mole talk": "Iwall hawave awa bawagel awand cweewem cheewes, pweewease."... with a straight face! I couldn't stop laughing and the waitress was hysterical! I never had more amiable, helpful, or entertaining guests.

There's always hope... =)

((((((((((((Lin)))))))))))). I know you will come trhough this alright. I know it is going to be tough for you, though. This crew does sound rather pushy. Remember you are not there to serve them. They are doing a job for you.

You will survive, because you are strong, and your friends are with you, my dear.

Bet you can't wait for that trip now, huh? Soon, love, soon.

*hugs you tight*

((((((((LIN))))))))))))) You're friends are with you, always. ;-D Feel free to vent any time and all else fails, sometimes it helps to simply pity them for not enjoying life to the full and missing the point that people are what matter most. Prayers sent your way.

I totally understand. I haven't been to church in a Loooooong time. I feel guilty, and I God is waiting, but where do I find the time? I need a retreat!

(((((Lin)))))) So sorry to hear of all your troubles; I wish I could come and help you clean house and everything! But I'll do the best I can do and pray for you. I'm sure you can handle this, and I certainly don't hope you are assimilated. It would be most unfortunate for the Borg if I found out...
