I had better put in a word now, before I go incommunicado until Tuesday or so.

The anniversary/birthday celebrations went very well, though they were conducted in the usual frazzled manner with which my family manages events planned carefully but set up at the last minute. My dad, who feared no one would come to his party, was proved quite wrong, and he had a great time and lots of people came, including most of the relatives.

I feel quite limp from the festivities and from talking to everyone and from standing up for hours -- and also from the stress of losing my driver's license and then spending hours online trying to find a single phone number for the gas station in Illinois where I felt certain it had fallen from my wallet. Finally my librarian research skills paid off, I found the number, and the license was located and held for me. My brother drove me down after the party to pick it up -- a four hour round trip, ugh.

It's now almost 1 am and I still have to pack my bags so I can leave in the morning to begin my slow way home. I'm scheduled to be back home on Tuesday evening, and I will be so glad!!! Even though it has been a great visit, I want my own bed, and my hubby and my boy.

Your family sounds like mine--we make parties at the last minute too! My little brother had a birthday party a couple days ago, and all we did beforehand was set the date and make some vague ideas. The actual decorating and most of the food-making was done the morning of the day, before the guests came. So I can relate!!

I know how you feel about getting home, too. Doesn't matter what fun one has away from home--nothing like coming home again. (((((Lin)))))

Oh! How stressful! I knew you were having a great trip out there, and to lose your license at the end of the trip! *hugs you tight*

Glad you found it, and have a safe trip home, my dear.
