Indeed, discombobulated is a real word! Yay! It's nice to know that an odd sort of word I have used since childhood is a real word with a real definition:
discom·bobu·lation n.
A feeling of embarrassment that leaves you confused [syn: confusion]
dis·com·bob·u·late
tr.v. dis·com·bob·u·lat·ed, dis·com·bob·u·lat·ing, dis·com·bob·u·lates
To throw into a state of confusion.
[syn: confuse] [Perhaps alteration of discompose.]
discombobulated adj.
Having self-possession upset; thrown into confusion; [syn: disconcerted]
That's me today -- not embarrassed, really, but definitely confused and disconcerted and having my self-possession upset (even if it is only a little bit!). It's just one of those days with all kinds of jobs being thrown at me, a head cold that has me feeling a tad spacey, a List of Doom waiting for me at home when I walk in the front door, and the feeling that I am generally unsure of what to expect in the coming days as we set goals and talk with people about our future plans.
Actually, now that I have had a bit of lunch, I am feeling less confused, so that will help with the rest of it. And I happen to know there are some folks out there praying for me today, so that helps even more!
I assure you that in spite of being discombobulated, I am thinking of you all today and praying for whatever it is that is getting you down, or causing you to struggle, or giving you joy, or making you think. ((((My friends))))
