In Urdu, "chota mota" means "small fat" -- or in other words, "this and that." So that's what today's post is going to be, a bit of this and that, to let folks reading this journal know more than they care to know about my routine this week!
I just got out of a required seminar at work (on my day off) about communication -- actually, it was quite interesting and very helpful. I'm spending the afternoon getting ready for a trip and then taking my writing stuff to a local restaurant and having some quiet time writing until my good buddies
pippinswolf and
wadearturo show up. We're having dinner together, yippee!
Tomorrow I leave for a 3-day conference at a nice resort, where I'm the main speaker at a ladies' missions luncheon. I have to pack, get a few meal ideas together for my son who will be staying home alone, and who knows what else that will pop up at the last minute!
What I am NOT doing is getting any inklings posted this week. Ho hum, such is life in the RW.
I may not be around as much this week, though I will have access to the internet where I am going. I'll be back on Friday, in time to start another round of the RW next week. Guests by the dozen are scheduled to arrive, eek!
As for the newest "quiz" going around...
According to my birthdate, I am:
Fig Tree (the Sensibility) -- very strong minded, a bit self-willed, honest, loyal, independent, hates contradiction or arguments, loves life and friends, enjoys children and animals, a social butterfly, great sense of humor, likes idleness and laziness after long demanding hours at work, has artistic talent and great intelligence.
This is not too far off, actually; but I also think I am much like this tree:
Lime Tree (the Doubt) - intelligent, hard working, accepts what life dishes out, but not before trying to change bad circumstances into good ones, hates fighting and stress, enjoys getaway vacations, may appear tough, but is actually soft and relenting, always willing to make sacrifices for family and friends, has many talents but not always enough time to use them, can become a complainer, great leadership qualities, is jealous at times but extremely loyal.
I expect there are elements of all the trees in each of us. And that's how it should be!

Date: 2004-05-11 06:48 pm (UTC)From:I love your icon, that is so fitting for you; it sounds like you are becoming quite the master harp player! I am glad, because I know how much you love music and the harp. Just the other day I was listening to the CD you sent me, remember? Beautiful!
Okay, trees. Here is the link to the post at the Prancing Pony board where I found out what my tree is:
