It's Goal Monday, and for lack of anything else to write about, I shall write about some of my goals for the week. Included on my List of Things to Do (better known as the List of Doom):

1) Sort papers and either file them or throw them away. This will be the yuckiest, most tedious job as well as the most painful as far as stress goes, because it will make me feel bad that we left so many things undone in a timely manner. But if I can get this done, I can start fresh in our new place with no old business to deal with! Wouldn't that be amazing!

2) Sort clothes and either wear them or give them away. We've got lots of things we have kept under the heading "but I love that old _____ and I'm sure I'll lose weight and be able to wear it again." Right. My new motto will be "buy new when the weight is gone." ;-)

3) Sort books, videos and DVDs and try desperately not to yield to the temptation to read and watch them.

That's just some of the sorting and packing I have to do, all the while keeping in mind that what I pack might not be immediately accessible when we arrive in Wisconsin -- so I have to be coherent enough about it that I pack so I can find things easily later. *insert sarcastic comment here* Even after 20 years of moving 2x a year in Pakistan (between winter and summer housing), I still don't quite have it down to a science! We know we will rent a place in WI for at least 6 months before heading for Chicago, but we don't know quite how soon we'll be able to move in and unpack -- hopefully within a few weeks of us arriving there in early November. We can't take too much more than that of living with the folks -- bless them all!

Edit10:30 pm -- looked at a DVD to decide about putting it away, and watched it instead. Ah, Bonanza.... :-D

Speaking of packing, I also have a separate running list of what I need to take on my little foray to Indianapolis for the LOTR Exhibition in a couple of weeks. Did I say a couple of weeks? Eeeeeeeeeeee! :-D My current dilemma with that trip is deciding if a 15 minute layover in Harrisburg is sufficient time to arrive and switch buses, or do I need to give in and do the 2 1/2 hour layover in the middle of the night, just to avoid the possible 7+ hour layover I would have if I missed the bus by a few minutes.... Hmmmm, think I just decided. ;-)

Sounds alot like my list, but I'm not moving.

That's sad. I just have to do all that stuff cause I'm an unorganized slob. Heh!

Well, my life would have been a lot easier if I'd done all this when I should have! Me=unorganized slob, too, which is why I have so many unfiled papers! :-D

I've been meaning to ask you, where will you live when you come to Chicago? Will it be a suburb or actually downtown?

We don't know for sure yet, but we hope to find a place as close to the northern part of Chicago as possible -- Devon Ave. or nearby. Depends on how much things cost, as well; could end up being a northern suburb. We'll be in Wisconsin for a time first, though -- the Janesville area, probably.
